But, even if you were raised in the country, understanding how to buy country land and knowing what to do with country land once you own it can be overwhelming. That’s why we’re going to take you step-by-step through the most common questions land buyers ask in **The Rural Rules**, a new video series we’ve put together with our parent company, [Raydient Places + Properties](https://raydientplaces.com/). Here’s the inaugural video, in which you’ll meet Jason Shearer. He is just the guy to share **insider tips on buying, owning and maintaining country land**.     Jason grew up in the country, working on farms and getting as much of the outdoors as he could. He studied forestry at the University of Florida and became a forester for [Rayonier](http://rayonier.com/), one of the largest timber companies in the United States. (Raydient is a subsidiary of Rayonier).
