Kymulga Mill Covered Bridge

KYMULGA MILL & COVERED BRIDGE

Where: Childersburg in Talladega County, Alabama

When Built: 1861

GPS Coordinates: 33°20′3.98″N, 86°17′58.40″W

Originally built over Talladega Creek, the Kymulga Covered Bridge, spanning 105 feet long, was restored in 1974, in addition to the Kymulga Park Grist Mill. This is one of two covered Alabama bridges that is still in its original location (the Waldo Covered Bridge, also in Talladega County, is the other). Found in a historical park, access to the bridge is limited. As of our print date, it was closed on Monday and Tuesday. There was a $3 admission fee on the remaining days of the week.
