Gilliland's-Reese Covered Bridge

Gilliland's-Reese Covered Bridge

GILLILAND's-REESE COVERED BRIDGE

Where: Gadsden in Etowah County

When Built: 1899

GPS Coordinates: 34°02′21.79″N, 86°01′26.93″W

Originally located on Judge H. Ross Gilliland’s plantation over Little Wills Creek in Reece City (the spelling of the bridge was changed to “Reese”), this 85-foot-long passageway moved to Noccalula Falls Park in 1967. To visit the bridge, you must pay admission to Noccalula Falls Park (Noccalula Falls itself is excluded), which also includes a pioneer village along with a botanical garden. The bridge was given a “facelift” including new flooring in July of 2015.
